45th Day

Merry Christmass.

Even if it is Christmas I've been in the English school which is located in Omotesando, Tokyo to having attended a Group Talk lesson.

Omotesando is well-known for the Christmas light. The rows of Keyaki trees from Harajuku station to Omotesando station were all lit up by millions and millions of tiny light bulbs.

They are so beautiful. And all people who are walking through Omotesando seem happy!

Happy Christmas!

What I have learnt at Group Talk lesson today is some new vocabulary; hearsay, savvy, paradigm effect, subconscious and epilepsy.

You may wonder what is the theme of the lesson.

Actually the theme was Christmas however we talked about brain and how the words which you speak influence you, people or things.

My teacher told us some very compelling research into negative and positive words and how they affect the steamed rice.

They placed two plates of steamed rice in the same environment.
They were saying one rice negative words such as you're discussing or ugly  and saying another rice positive words like you'er beautiful or thank you very much.

And then, the rice hearing negative words went off whereas another rice hearing positive words became being fermenting and smelled good.

And someone said"I have offen heard this kind of stories but they are all from hearsay.
There are no evidences."

How do you think whether words influence you or not?

On the 24th day

このプロジェクトを始めて24日=3週間と3日目。

やっと、授業のすぐ後に復習する為にブログを書いてる。
うれしい!!!!!

iPhone を買って。
Macbook air まで買って。
Windows user からMac userに変更して。これは継続中。。。(もともとパソコン音痴)
生まれて初めてブログを立ち上げて。
もちろん、フルタイムでお仕事して。
その間に、イスタンブールからの引っ越しもあって。

11月20日以外、毎日学校に来て授業を受けてきた。

今日、「話し方がとっても流暢になったね。」ってChris(先生)が言ってれた。
うれしいな♪

さて、復習しよう!

今日私が間違えた事
I said I haven't speak English for 8 months. This is wrong.
Of cause I know I should say I haven't spoken English for 8 months when I write or think slowly.
But I wasn't able to say that on the spot. So I'll be careful when I speak about from past to now.

Today's new vocabulary; actually they are phrases,
1. Learning English will broaden my field of view. (You can say vision instead of view)
 これはなぜ私が英語を勉強したいかの理由。
 my field of viewをなんて和訳したらいいのかな。
「英語を学ぶ事は私の視野を広げてくれる。」かな。

2. It's the thought that counts.
 これはとっても素敵な言葉。
 直訳すると「その気持ち(配慮)がもっとも大切な事だから。」かな。
 どんな時に使えるか ↓
The present what you give me is not a big deal. It"s the thought that counts.

☆☆☆
英文、和訳ともにおかしい、?、間違っている!等々ありましたら、
どうぞ、どうぞ教えてください。
Please let me know if you find some mistakes in my English, I will really appreciate it.

On the 22nd day

This is actually my second time I've posted on this blog! :)

Today I've had a private lesson with my teacher's Jaclyne, she was the person why I had very first been fascinated with this English school.

She was an architect as well as me!

Today's topic was about some materials for buildings and interior.
We both love, I believe, natural materials.
No offense metal and concret, but I prefer natural materials such as wood, stone and mad.

I recently found some v compelling research into surface material properties and how they affect the well-being of the people who are interacting with it.  The research was performed on  rats.

You should check it out!!!  Except it's written only Japanese...
